My 4 Step Morning Skincare Routine

Happy New Year’s everyone and cheers to having the best skin you could possibly have this year. Good skin will never be just a trend for me. I’m not saying my skin is perfect because it’s really not, but it’s definitely better than it was a couple years back. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing the products that I use for my Morning Skincare routine and hopefully this helps you guys. 🙂

My Skin Type

My skin is considered combo/oily. I’m normal in all areas of my face, with an exception of my T-zone. I have existing acne scarring which causes texture to my cheek area. I also have puffiness under my eyes which sucks, but usually happens when I wake up in the morning.

Keeping it simple

Everyday life gets busy, but I make sure to set 5 minutes aside for my skincare routine and this has helped because I’m not just doing every step fast and lathering on creams, but actually taking my time and making sure the products are soaking up and working into my skin. Another way I keep my skincare routine simple is by making sure to use the least amount of products because I don’t know about you, but with to many products you may skip a step. 🙂 With all this being said, let me share my skincare routine with you!

Step 1: Cleanse

When I cleanse in the morning, I use the Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser and I just work this into my skin using my fingers. Because my skin is already pretty much cleansed from the night before, this does the trick.

Step 2: Pat Dry

Make sure you pat your face versus wiping your face harshly. This way you won’t irritate it. I also noticed that instead of using a regular towel, give a microfiber towel a try. It doesn’t soak up all the moisture this way your face isn’t drying and feeling tight.

Step 3:Toner

This is important to get your pH levels on your skin back in order and also to help ensure all your gunk is off of your skin. I personally use witch Hazel because it’s affordable and works. I apply it onto my face using a cotton round and let it dry which doesn’t take long at all.

Step 4: Hydration

Hydrating your face after you just stripped your skin from some of the oils is a must. You will also be treating your face, but remember not only is the right skincare important, but also the techniques that you use. I make sure to always tap in my products very gently onto my face. I also make sure to only use a little bit of product at a time this way I don’t over apply creams which is just as bad as under using creams.

I love using the Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer with SPF after cleansing my skin because it is lightweight, but also moisturizing and it has SPF! Make sure your moisturizer for the daytime has SPF because it’s so important to protect your skin from the UV rays. Make sure to Tap the product in.

After I apply this, I go in with an eye cream which is just as important. I love the Origins Ginzing Eye Cream because it’s not only so hydrating, but it smells so yummy and awakening. If you remember earlier when I mentioned my concerns for my eye area was puffiness, it definitely helps with depuffing. Make sure to tap this in. I tap this in with my ring finger so it’s less pressure under my delicate on my eye area.

That’s all that I do for my morning routine. Once all the products dry on my skin, I go ahead and do my makeup routine and head out the door. I only used 4 products and that’s it. On top of that, all my products are from the drugstore with the exception of the Origins Eye cream, but it’s so worth it and works well on me.
