I’m not a fan of hot beverages, but this is my one exception. Hot chocolate is one of my favorite childhood drinks that made it into my adulthood must-have drinks for the Holidays!
Welcome to Blogmas Day 2 so happy that you’re reading this! 🙂
- Cutest Holiday Cup you can find
- Cadbury hot chocolate (or your favorite one)
- Whipped Cream
- Mini candy cane
- Chocolate syrup
- Milk (your choice)
Ok, let’s get started!!
Step 1: Got Milk?
Pour your milk in the cup and heat it up! I heat my milk up for about 2 minutes. This way it’s just the right temperature when I’m done decorating it. Don’t worry, you can use any milk your heart desires. I’ve tried this recipe with almond milk and it tasted great, just added a nutty flavor.
Step 2: Chocolatey Goodness
This is the key part to this hot cocoa of course. If you can find the Cadbury hot cocoa mix then you will seriously never go back to your traditional mix. This one is seriously so delicious and chocolatey and rich tasting! A game changer in my opinion. One of my other favorite hot cocoa mix is the one by Ghirardelli. Seriously, so good. Once you find one of these two hot chocolates, mix it in to your hot milk.
Step 3: Sprinkle the Goodness
Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon to the top layer of hot cocoa, but do not stir! Ok, this is a crucial step, but you can opt out if you’re allergic or not very fond of cinnamon. I love eating/drinking things that have layers of flavor to it. It makes the item more interesting. Just try it if you love cinnamon…thank me late. Haha.
Step 4: Whip away
Channel your inner artist and add whipped cream to your drink. I noticed that the extra creamy whipped cream holds its shape better on the hot cocoa then the original, so definitely give it a try. Plus, who doesn’t love extra creamy, fluffy whipped cream. Yum…
Step 5: Drizzle Away
Get your favorite chocolate syrup and drizzle it as they do at Staarbucks! It’s all in the wrist. Haha. I love the Hershey’s brand, but anyone you love will work.
Step 6: Crush it up
There’s no surprise that candy canes are a must have to top off your hot cocoa. Crush them up and sprinkle them at the top. It adds such a cute look and a minty fresh goodness!
Step 7: Spruce it up
Add a mini candy cane to the side of your cup for looks and you’re all set
Snap a pic and E N J O Y
You’ll be tempted to drink this goodness right away, but don’t forget to snap a pic of your hot cocoa!
